Made in Boleslawiec Poland, where the highly enriched vitrified clays provide the strongest and most elegant building material for clay pottery and ceramics, these pots are made by craftsmen who have had this art form passed down to them.
The Polish Pickling Crocks are made from a natural ceramic earthenware clay with a Lead-Free glaze. The company in Poland that makes our crocks has been making them for several hundred years.
Purposefully designed with an airtight water sealable cover so that you do not have to repeatedly open them to scrape off surface mold; simply pour a small amount of water into the channel on top and the cover's design will allow gases to escape without letting oxygen in.
These pickling crocks from Poland are similar to the German Harsch Gairtopf Pickling Crocks. The Polish crocks have a similar design to the Harsch, they both have semi-circle stone weights and lids, with lead-free earthenware clay, while these Polish crocks are a little less expensive. These ship within one business day from my warehouse in Buffalo, New York.
These crocks come with the same style of stone weights as the Harsch, and they have a water sealable air-tight cover which allows the fermentation gasses to escape while keeping the oxygen out.
